worse place ever. Tall bawled guy who claims to own the place was so rude to us. No wonder it's always very slow in there. You are chasing all the people away! IF you want to run a successful business you need to be NICE to customers.

The Verve has the menu of a creative Midwestern restauraunt that is a "must go to," if you are in the Cleveland area. The Restaurant is on Cleveland's historic Carnegie Avenue and has huge windows facing this main Cleveland arterie. There is free downtown parking directly beside the restaurant. The menu is inovative and the food is excellent. I loved my entree the "Lamb Stroganoff." The wine list is extensive, affortable, and exclusive at the sametime. I chose to drink beer, and the beerlist is taylored to match the food. There are many Belgium beers, and Belgium style beers which are my favorite to pair with food. And our server Michael was efficient and knowledgeable. We'll definately return.

This place has everything on the menu! It's even vegetarian friendly; the veggie burgers are great!!! The best corned beef in Cleveland. They're also very fast with the to-go orders! very friendly as well. love it!

Jenni wrote about B Spot

Loved the variety on the burgers. Super moist, not too greasy. I had the Jersey with pork roll. Pork roll in Ohio, shocking! The milkshakes were perfect, Chocolate Espresso with a shot of Frangelico (yummy, smooth, pieces of dark choc. espresso beans). The sausage melted in my mouth, very mild taste. Service was great, even though it was opening night. Can't wait to go back for the Pastrami burger and try out the wings.

If this would have been our first visit to LaBoca, we would have never returned. Sadly, the menu has changed, and not for the better. The first dozen times we frequented this restaurant, the food was terrific with choices available for everyone. As of this writing, they removed their best appetizers and substituted a variety of cold plates or seafood only appetizers which may present a problem for some diners. The scallop dinner that was ordered contained so much grit that it had to be sent back. The replacement was a squash ravioli that was swimming in a non-discript liquid that was not eaten either. The savory salmon dinner that was wonderful is now a sweet as candy dish with mushy squash due to the menu change. The manager did remove our two drinks from the bill due to the horrendous food. Maybe they should have removed the dinner. LaBoca - wake up and restore your old menu - sometimes newer is not better. You had a winning combination before.

DaveB wrote about Medina Steakhouse & Saloon

My wife and I have been to this restaurant on three occasions. My wife had a steak the first and third visit and I had the filet on all 3 visits. My steak was good the first 2 times we ate there but on our last visit something was wrong. I ordered the mushrooms and onions on the side and put the toppings on the steak with each individual bite. It tasted strange so I took a few bites without any toppings. It had a bitter burnt taste. It wasn't burnt or overcooked but something was wrong with the meat. I tasted my wife's steak and it tasted normal. She tasted mine and agreed something was wrong. She also told me at that time that her steak had a similar bitter taste on our first visit but didn't mention it at the time. So on a total of 5 steaks ordered at this restaurant we had 2 bad steaks. I told our waitress of the problem she told the chef who said there was nothing wrong with the steak, it was normal. I was shocked at this response. No effort to try to make things right. With a bill in excess of $80 I expect some attempt to satisfy the customer. This restaurant made absolutely no effort. The worst customer service I ever experienced at a restaurant. I will never pass through their door again.

I'd say this is a good, but not great place. Went there because Panos (owned by same people) recently closed. Loved the burgers at Panos. The burgers here weren't as good -- small things like at Panos the shredded the cheese so it melted more uniformly and the bun/roll on my burger was toasted almost to the point of being burned. Like my roll toasted, but not crunchy. Service was excellent.

My friends and I go up to the Fox & Hound all the time! I love their $2 draft days on Tuesdays and their food is always great! I recently had a 30th birthday party for my husband up there and I didn't have to do a thing, they have an event planner that helps with everything. She was great and we had the best waitresses! We will be back soon!

I'd say this reviewer is pretty much right. I could put up with it if the ribs and food were really good. Have had both chicken and ribs there and neither were tender. Just can't understand why this place seems to have appeal. Must be a lot of people who like their ribs tough and chewy.

Now why would you bring a newborn to a restaurant like Luxe on a Friday night? And then complain that its not accommodating to your infant? I mean come on - the place is great but Friday nights it has a definite upscale food with a nightlife vibe. They have a DJ there on Fridays... nuff said.

I have been to Pataya restaurant a few times and I never order the same thing. Although I do have a "favorite" I always try something new. From start to finish...soup to dessert I have found that Pataya only cooks with fresh ingridients to perfection. The soups I would recommend having would be "Tom Yum" (for a little spicy) or "Velvet Seafood Soup" (for the seafood delight). Next would be the appetizers. I have a personal favorite here..."Thai rolls", even though spicy wonton could be my favorite too. By the way, they have the best "Crab Rangoons" around! Then there is the entree. I would recommend "Dragon & Phoenix", that's if you like shrimp and chicken combination. This dish is prepared in a white wine sauce....oh so good! " Mandarin or Szechuan Duck" is also good. This restaurant also has "Red Panaeng Curry, Yellow Curry and Green Curry" dishes. I promise you..every bite just about melts in your mouth. I have NEVER had good quality food and good quality service anywhere other than Pataya. I cannot stress enough how fresh they cook everything with. Lunch and dinner prices ARE affordable. They even made combinations plates as well. Egg rolls are a "Must", very crunchy and not greasy. Finally, I always get a dessert. I usually have Lemon ice cream or coconut ice cream. Next time I will try the Coconut fried banana. I am telling you...this IS the place to go for GOOD THAI CUSINE. Nothing around here can fit Pataya's shoes!

Westsideoldie wrote about Fratello's

Their signature dish is Veal Fratello and it is superb. After being less than happy at several west side Italian places I was more than happy here. Portions are sizeable and you can easily substitute vegetable for pasta. I loved the sauteed beets I had there last time. Attention to detail is excellent. You won't find iceberg lettuce in your salad and the greens will be crisp. House wine selection is great, service is right on. If you are a dessert person, save room.

kellyf wrote about Luxe Kitchen & Lounge

Last night we took family from out-of-town to Luxe. Although we had a reservation and called 5 minutes before our arrival and told them we have a newborn baby with, we were seated in the CROWDED, noisy bar area as they had no tables in the dining room. Our party of five (plus baby) had a table set for four. We didn't get a fifth glass of water and fork-knife-napkin till after the first course arrived. The waiter was rude and visibly annoyed with any requests we made. For instance, I ordered hot water with a lemon as my beverage - he sighed. When he brought the first round of drinks he said to me, "your tea water will be right out." Another server brought my water 10 minutes later. The waiter never offered to tell us about the "specials"; my husband asked and he replied, "oh, i thought you'd never ask!" Are we supposed to ask for the specials? When i asked for a roasted squash salad with a side of grilled tofu he replied, 'my chef is gonna stab me in the heart...it'll probably †ake an hour and a half but I'll ask." I said, "well, I've ordered a side of chicken for a salad here before and it was no problem. He said, "i'm gonna go ask him to make sure he'll do it." then the waiter ran away. he came right back and said, "he'll do it." I †old the waiter, "i'm feeling like I'm inconveniencing you." and the waiter replied, "i just have to ask." I understand that he may need to run a subsitution/addition to menu item by the chef but does he need to talk to customers that way? I am appalled. The food was delicious, as always. We loved Luxe and recommended it to SO many people and visited as often as we could. Our baby had been there before too. Sitting in the bar was not fun as the music was very loud and it was hard to hold a conversation. The music was really annoying and made us long for a table in the dining room. We felt so unwelcome at Luxe. We won't be back. We hope another great spot opens soon in the Detroit Shoreway 'hood because Luxe is lame. We're so disappointed.

Prestos is by far one of my favorite sandwhich places! I heard a rumor that they just opened another one in downtown Cleveland too!!!! I highly recommend it. Btw - it's good to know that the Fairview Park location is open on Sunday's b/c up until this point, I didn't think they were! Thanks!

I was recently at both locations for events. The food was fabulous. It was served hot and on time. The dessert table and presentation was absolutely amazing. The manager John was very attentive to the bride and always available. I plan on having my wedding at Pazzo's in the near future. I would recommend Pazzo's for any parties or wedding that you may have. John was the best.

We stayed 2 nights at the Lake House Inn for the Chocolate and Wine Lovers Weekend. It was an awesome and delightful experience. Our room was clean and well appointed. The grounds and lakefront patios are gorgeous and the food delicious. We were treated to a lovely chocolate and wine reception with the winemaker on Friday and a full 5 course wine dinner on Saturday. Both were outstanding. Full breakfast is super here too. We hiked in Geneva State Park and drove to the nearby wineries. This felt like a trip to Napa at a fraction of cost or the hassle. Wow!

VJM wrote about Vine & Bean Cafe

I prefer to patronize local businesses when possible, but I've been disappointed by the Vine and Bean time and again. After several visits resulting in indifferent service and lackluster food, I must officially write it off as a dining option. Reviewing the online menu on the Web site (a site which is frequently updated, I should add), I asked my boyfriend to pick me up the turkey Panini, which was advertised as turkey, cheddar, bacon, avocado and plain mayo. When he returned with our $23 carryout order for two sandwiches and a coffee, I opened up my sandwich and found a turkey Panini with Swiss, cranberry mayo and walnuts. I was sorely disappointed, as I'm allergic to nuts, but I gave the Vine and Bean the benefit of the doubt, thinking perhaps there were two turkey sandwiches on the menu. I called to see if my boyfriend accidentally ordered the wrong one so I would know what to ask for next time. I was informed, rather haughtily, that Vine and Bean offers a seasonal menu and that many things change throughout the year and, furthermore, "Jim" said that avocados were out of season, so I shouldn't have expected them to be on the sandwich in the first place – apparently, it was my fault for trusting their menu and my psychic abilities are to blame. Jim offered a curt "sorry" that I couldn't eat the sandwich because of my nut allergy – not an invitation to bring it back and have it remade, not an offer for a free sandwich on my next visit. Nothing. Just rudeness. I suggested that perhaps they update their online menu to reflect the season changes, and hung up, making a vow not to patronize Vine and Bean further. I'm all for altering recipes to use seasonal ingredients and would have been just fine with the absence of an avocado. But it was a COMPLETELY different sandwich than advertised. The only commonality was the turkey. Not to mention that, with my nut allergies, I'm lucky that I looked into the sandwich before I was able to take bite. Further, when a business makes a mistake, they should at least offer to make it right. While I applaud Vine and Bean's promotion of local ingredients and live music, perhaps it should focus on the fundamentals of customer service first.

I don't know I had veal and it was forgetable. The veal was not tender and I expect that was a combination of it not being tenderized and probably overcooked. The service was okay, but not great. Maybe I expected too much like having a pepper grinder and freshly grated parm or romano. They fall just a bit short of being good. The pasta was medocre and rthe sauce undistinguished. I hate it when I go out to an Italian place and then am disappointed because my own marinara sauce is so much better than theirs. The manager was very friendly and helpful.

Westsideoldie wrote about White Oaks Restaurant

To me, this restaurant is a throwback. The ambiance is really neat and you got to White Oak to dine, not to eat. I especially like the Long Island Duck and the Beef Wellington. The service is attentive, helpful and courteous. They know their wines and are helpful with that also. Haha you even get a relish tray ... now I call that a throwback. One of the things I especially like is the fact that for people who might need a walker, cane or even a wheelchair, they go out of their way to help. They really make everyone feel like a special guest. Yeah, it's a bit pricey but the service and food are so much better than other places that charge equally like Hyde Park or Blakes ... there is just no comparison. So if you want to get out of the fast lane and be pampered and well fed, check this place out.

Westsideoldie wrote about Romeo's Pizza

I don't know what Romeo's put is their sauce, but it is darned good! Most of their pizzas are loaded with meat and the quality is great, but if you are counting calories, this is not the place for you. Another thing I like is that when you say thin crust they try to accommodate so it is more like a New York style pizza. But if you like Chicago style they can give you a thick crust.
