You’d be hard pressed to find a better breakfast joint in Cleveland than Lucky’s Café. Lucky’s started out as a small coffee house about five years ago and has since evolved into a Tremont hotspot. “Unless you’re a national corporation, it’s hard to make money just serving coffee,” said Heather Haviland, who owns Lucky’s through her company Sweet Mosaic. “So we started focusing more on the food aspect of the business.”

When Haviland started cooking Saturday morning brunch, she had a ramshackle kitchen setup (complete with camping burners and other assorted equipment), and served about 30 people. Now, she has a remodeled kitchen, a kitchen staff of four and serves several hundred people on weekends.
