Although the term "dive" usually describes hole-in-the-wall or run-down venues, Guy Fieri's show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" on the Food Network has completely changed the meaning to great local cuisine at off-the-beaten path venues.
Cleveland, more specifically Cleveland dining, was in the national spotlight, as this season's first episode of Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" filmed in our beloved city, aired Monday night. Lucky's Cafe in Tremont was the first venue to be showcased when Fieri made his summer stop in C-town.
Fieri visited several Cleveland establishments when the show brought its cameras to the city in late July. Two other segments featuring popular Cleveland restaurants are set to air sometime this fall. On Monday, Oct. 26, Fieri will feature Parkview Night Club. Then on Monday, Nov. 16, Fieri will highlight Geraci's in University Heights.
Fieri also visited and filmed at Melt Bar and Grilled, Momocho and Sterle's Slovenian Country House, however, no air date has been set for those segments.
In honor of Lucky's appearance on national television, Metromix put together a list of dives that we think Guy Fieri should visit and feature on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" the next time he decides to hit up C-town.
