Food
Somer's has an overwhelmingly large lunch menu stocked with overwhelmingly large portions and a “breakfast anytime” policy. The breakfast menu boasts all the classics, plus a “Terminal Tower Platter” if you decide you want all eight of those classics mixed together. The steak and eggs is the most expensive item on the menu, weighing in at a whopping $7.99. And even with these great prices, Somer’s created the “Diesel” menu, full of $5 bargains for noshers who stop in between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
At lunch, Somer’s speedily serves hefty plates of American comfort food. The “Rueben” (their spelling, $7.99) refuses to be contained by two buttery slices of rye toast. A Somer’s specialty, it’s smartly served with Thousand Island dressing on the side (apparently for blissfully ignorant calorie counters), chewy pub chips and a kosher dill spear. At least three different soups are featured every day, including the famous matzo ball soup ($3.49). The specials change daily.
