Rubin's Family Restaurant & Deli

David Lee Roth once bawled, "You got it tough? I've seen the toughest around." The western end of Lorain Avenue is home to some of Cleveland's grittiest bars and locals, many of whom end up here on long nights. Even the waitresses, many of whom are pretty hot in a jail-chick exploitation flick way, look sharp as straight razors. But fear not; Rubin's is big enough and friendly-looking enough to keep you away from post-Lucasville loonies and truckers with blood on their minds. Big enough, in fact, that they managed to put a tank full of tough-looking fish from the "bad" side of the Cleveland Zoo in here. Note: Rubin's has one of the better vegetarian-Middle Eastern items of the diners on this list.
