It's hard to believe that Empress Taytu, located no more than 10 minutes from Downtown Cleveland, has not only been around for two decades, but is still one of Cleveland's dining secrets. Discover the food of this ancient and often poorly-understood African culture, as you sit in huts and share richly spiced dishes from a common platter (Look ma, no fork!). While chicken and lamb sometimes find their way into Ethiopian cuisine, the emphasis is often on vegetarian offerings that, to the newcomer, often seem stew-like.
