Phish Festival 8: Day one
For the first time in five years, jam band stalwarts Phish held another of their legendary three-day concerts, this time at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, Calif., also home to the Coachella and Stagecoach Festivals. And for the first time, they combined a three-day festival with their annual tradition of "wearing" a famous album by another band for Halloween. This year's aural costume: the Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street," one of eight sets the band played over the course of three days. (Opening acts? They don't need no stinkin' opening acts!) As always, the Phish faithful were as much of an attraction as the band itself.
