Pale Hollow is gaining critical acclaim on a local and national level. With one album under their belts, these guys will be back to work at the end of summer to produce another fan favorite.
Who are your musical influences?
The Birds, early Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, the Clash, U2. Kind of a potpourri of different genres.
What songs will you be performing?
Good question. "Uncertainties," "Don't It Make You Lonely" and a song that is getting a lot of radio play called "Sugarcane."
Any reason you chose those songs?
Probably because we play those ones the best. Those come off live really well.
Do you have plans in the works for another album?
Yes we do. We are currently rehearsing new songs and we are talking with the guy who produced our first record. The plan is to get in the studio again and record some new stuff.
Anytime soon?
Yes! Probably the end of summer.
How did you come up with your name?
There were contents from my unconscious that were invading my conscience and I was overwhelmed one day and those words just seem to slip out. It was like a gateway that opened up.
For someone who is not familiar with you guys, describe your sound?
It's kind of like an all country with a '60s British influence. It's kind of a weird mix of those two genres filtered into one thing.
Where was your first performance in Cleveland?
It was in the Beachland Ballroom. We opened up for the Olympic A** Kicking Team. We have gotten a lot better since then.
Do you have a favorite spot to perform?
Here at the Beachland. They are so accommodating. This crowd is definitely our best crowd to play for.
Do you have a favorite hangout?
Mike's basement. Also, all the places we play. We try to hang out at and meet the people and spread the word.
Do you have a favorite thing about performing?
As long as we can not make too many mistakes and remember the words and remember our parts we are pleased. It's the clapping at the end of each song that we wait for.
