“Dances with Wolves” (1990)

Fashionably furry: Kevin Costner has rarely been seen as a style icon (let’s not even start with “Waterworld”), but in “Dances with Wolves” he learns to shed the ways and clothes of the white man to become best buddies with the Sioux people and a wolf. As he adopts the customs of his new pals (but not the wolf) he tries on beads, fringe jackets, and those sweet hide pants that were all the rage on the plains.
