Pigskin Classic 2011
It's one of the biggest college football rivalries…OSU versus Michigan. And here in Cleveland, we celebrate with a tailgate, a race and an all-out fiasco of a party!
Thousands of people signed up to be part of this year’s Pigskin Classic 5K and tailgate on West Sixth Street and the Blind Pig. The entire street was shut down both for the race and the party. The theme “Hangin’ with My Gnomies” was appropriately carried out with every person receiving their own gnome souvenir and even a real-life gnome rolling with the crowd all day.
The race started at 10 a.m., but beforehand, many of the runners were stretching, warming up and chugging water—a few were already pounding beers. After the race, the real fun began! The DJ spun tunes, racers and tailgaters played cornhole, drank more beer and then drank some more.
