Cleve-Lens: National Hamburger Festival
Ah, hamburgers. The juicy sandwich that can have you salivating just by thinking about it.
For the 6th year, people packed downtown Akron to celebrate their favorite sandwich as the National Hamburger Festival returned to Lock 3.
The event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday, offered up dozens of different hamburgers from a variety of vendors including Hodge Podge, Metro Burger (which offered a deep-fried burger), White Castle and Menches Bros.—who claim to have invented the hamburger.
On center stage there was a contest in which three people splashed their faces through a pool of ketchup to bob for burgers. Truly disgusting. Then there was a hamburger eating contest in which the winner gobbled down 10 burgers in five minutes.
