'25 Hill' premieres at Akron Civic
The Hollywood spotlight gave Akron a little love as the cast and crew of "25 Hill" hit the town for the film's premiere. For two nights, under the twinkling "night sky" inside Akron's Civic Theatre, Akron gave that love right back.
Hundreds lined up for a chance to see writer/director Corbin Bernsen and the rest of the stars of the film, which largely was shot here in Northeast Ohio. Timothy Omundson, Maureen Flannigan and child stars Nathan Gamble and Bailee Madison were all on hand, as well as Bernsen's four sons.
After the red carpet and many gracious photos and autographs, attendees were treated to a hands-on display of the soap box cars used in the filming. They were then led into a packed house for a viewing of "25 Hill."
Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic awarded Bersen the key to the city before the movie's first showing on Saturday night.
The local audience erupted into applause anytime a local landmark or extra appeared on screen. The film received a standing ovation before ticket holders were each given their own DVD of the film.
