Behind the screams: Haunted Schoolhouse & Laboratory 2011
Seven floors of terror! That's what you face when visiting both the Haunted Schoolhouse and the Haunted Laboratory. These massive haunted attractions atop Triplett Blvd. in Akron are two of the longest consecutive-running spookhouses in the United States.
The Haunted Schoolhouse, now in its 38th year of fear, takes you on a terrifying journey through the former Thomastown Elementary School. You encounter dozens of monsters like an angry giant, a nasty witch, evil clowns, zombie-filled cemeteries, a wise-cracking skeleton on a toilet and an evil king's torturous dungeon.

Cross the parking lot by following green monster footprints and enter the Haunted Laboratory's four frightening floors. The experience begins with an all-new element to the Laboratory—the fourth floor is now in eye-popping 3-D. Toss on a pair of special specs so you can watch the walls come to life. The Laboratory also features gobs of other unique elements like a walk across the world's first vertical wind tunnel, a pair of Tesla coils that zap 1.5 million volts of electricity at you and a vortex tunnel that will have you stumbling around like you've had too many drinks. 2011 marks the Laboratory's 31st year of terror.
