The end of 30 Rock is near. The NBC comedy wraps up its seven-year run on Thursday.
At Sunday's SAG Awards, Tina Fey made a plea from the podium as she collected a trophy for female actor in a comedy series.
"Our finale is on this Thursday at 8 - up against The Big Bang Theory, so just tape The Big Bang Theory for once, for crying out loud!"
Fey was funny as she went on to thank her friend and former Saturday Night Live cast member Amy Poehler. "I've stolen so many of your moves. I've known you since you were pregnant with Lena Dunham," she joked. "I love you."
Alec Baldwin also took home a SAG for his work on the show. "This is ridiculous," said Baldwin after accepting his eighth award as Jack Donaghy. "This is the greatest experience I've ever had."
But don't worry for the unemployed 30 Rockers.
Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Fergsuon made an offer from the stage when his show won the SAG for best comedy, "If we can absorb any of you into our cast, if you need jobs, please call our casting director ..."
But Fey seems to be set. Backstage, after the win, Fey said she's got plenty of work lined up, reports USA TODAY's Bill Keveney, including a deal with NBC to develop shows with producing partner Robert Carlock. Also, she said, "I'm going to London in March to film the next Muppets movie. Hopefully, shooting a movie called Mail Order Groom this summer with Steve Carrell."
Fey mentioned 30 Rock's legacy. "I hope it has a long life in syndication," said Fey. "I look forward to another generation of nerds finding it."
So where will she be watching the finale? "I think they're going to have some kind of cash bar somewhere because we're broke for a party," she told USA TODAY's Andrea Mandell. "We spent every every last dime on the series finale. I'm going to watch at home because my husband did all the music for the show, so he has to be in control of the sound system. He couldn't watch it at bar, he has to have a good sound system. There will be alcohol for sure."
