Cinco de Mayo at Zocalo
May 5, 2009
Drinko de Mayo ... er, we mean Cinco de Mayo was a grand time at Zocalo Mexican Grill and Tequileria Tuesday evening. Cavs fans and white-collar workers packed the bar immediately after work to partake in the annual drinking holiday and to watch as LeBron James accepted the NBA's MVP award before Cleveland destroyed Atlanta at the Q later that night.
Devil horns, beads, sombreros and maracas added to the drunken tomfoolery and made for great photo opps.
Hundreds of Clevelanders also participated in the "Run for the Border" event, which took the runners to several bar checkpoints—including Zocalo—for refreshing shots of alcohol. How else would you rehydrate during a foot race on Cinco de Mayo?
All in all, the day was a success. Many people got a good dose of exercise, many more people went home with a very nice buzz and the Cavs proved once again they are at the top of their game.
