Bottom line
Leaving the bar, I began to watch customers file in and understood that The Sports Page Tavern hide-away was a personable place that had it’s committed following—almost as if they had a world all to themselves that brought them joy.
If you are interested in finding a safe drinking spot where you can get to know both the bartenders and the people drinking beside you, The Sports Page could just be the place for you. Personally, I won’t be making a trip back to the tavern and wouldn’t recommend it as a destination spot to anyone else. However, if you are looking for somewhere to consider a “bar home” where you can relax from demands of standards and expectations, while placing none on anyone else either, then you will love it.
Judy mentions that “when people come through the door, it’s not about how the bar looks, it’s about how the people feel.” Judy wants her customers to come in and feel like they can be themselves no matter what. I must admit that I really did feel that way and it was nice.
