Atmosphere
Spitfire is owned and operated by two veterans of the Cleveland college radio circuit and their influence on the bar is apparent everywhere. It’s like being in their basement; surrounded by stacks of vinyl, feet rested on a micro-fridge full of Black Label, entwined in conversations ranging from the destruction of the government to “my son can eat more fried eggs than your son.”
Knuckling up to the bar you may receive the ceremonial stare of “who the hell are you?” Take this as a welcoming sign and as soon as you’re determined to not be a total square, you’ll be right in the middle of those fried egg challenges. Fourteen is the current number to beat.
The mix of patrons is eclectic here. Don’t fear if your mohawk isn’t touching the rafters or your Doc Martens are not as shiny as they used to be; everyone is appreciated here.
