Decor
Black and white are the colors here. From the windows to the walls! Well, as mentioned before, there are no windows here, so from the checkerboard floor to the 1920s style tin ceiling. Old show posters and beer signs dominate. The spots where they have not grown over feature brightly painted canvases of eerie scenes. These original pieces are somewhere in the center of a bizarre love triangle of Aeon Flux, Betty Boop and the “Blackhole Sun” video.
The jukebox is all punk. Favorites such as the Ramones, Black Flag and Sex Pistols are all here while even making room for many lesser known staples such as Fear and GG Allin. There are even some slots sampling local talent that has frequented the bar. When approached on this night, the juke only had 709 credits remaining, so bringing a stack of singles to procure some tunes will probably lead to more “poor boys”…or Lido Lounge. Choose wisely.
